Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) is a free half-day program sponsored by the Cortland Enlarged School District for the four year old residents of the districts. Held on-site at licensed and approved area child care facilities, including the Cortland Child Development Centers, UPK is taught by a master’s level teacher, and activities focus on the goal of public school readiness.
Acceptance into Universal Pre-K is based on a first-come, first-served basis after applications for registration are received and processed by the school district. When possible, staff from Child Development will hand-carry your completed application to the school board office to ensure your child’s enrollment in this program if age eligible.
Please contact us for more detailed information regarding UPK.
